Lead Data Engineer

We are looking for a Lead Data Engineer to join the data foundation team. The person will be responsible for managing a small team of data engineers and build highly scalable data pipelines and maintain the data infrastructure.

Technical lead:

• Manage a small team of data engineering projects with a team of 1-3 data engineers.
• Technical hands-on development of complex data pipelines, implementation, and documentation of data engineering best practices.
• Collaborate with data engineering, analytics, data science leadership to strive for greater functionality in our data systems.
• Good understanding of consumer data platforms(CDP) like Braze, Mix Panel, Google Analytics, Zoom Info, Acxiom, Zendesk etc.

Provide Functional Expertise:

• Define, build, and maintain optimal data pipeline infrastructure
• Identify, design, and implement internal process improvements: automating manual processes, optimizing data delivery, re-designing infrastructure for greater scalability, devops etc.
• Define and build the infrastructure required for efficient extraction, transformation, and loading of data from a wide variety of data sources

Connect the Dots:

• Assemble large, sophisticated data sets that meet functional / non-functional business requirements
• Build data tools for analytics and data scientist team members that assist them in building and optimizing our products into innovative industry leaders
• Manage the resolution of data-related technical issues of business stake holders.

Innovate:

• Identify, design, and implement internal process improvements: automating manual processes, optimizing data delivery, re-designing infrastructure for greater scalability, etc.
• Comply with all policies and standards

• 10+ years’ experience as a data engineer. 3 or more years of experience managing a team of data engineers
• Must Have experience with (Oracle data integrator) ODI, snowflake. 
• Strong background in math, statistics, computer science, data science or related discipline
• Advanced knowledge programming language: Python
• Production experience with: Airflow, Amazon Web Services (AWS), Docker / Kubernetes, Snowflake, Databricks etc.

 Proficient with:

• Database technologies (e.g. PostgreSQL, Redshift, Snowflake etc), DBT(Data Build Tool)
• Comfortable learning about and deploying new technologies and tools.
• Organizational skills and the ability to handle multiple projects and priorities simultaneously and meet established deadlines.

Familiarity and experience in the following is a plus:

• AWS certification
• Spark
• Kafka Streaming / Kafka Connect
• MongoDB
• CI/CD: GitLab, Jira, Confluence other related tools
