The Flight Crew Trainee Program (FCT) is available in Bay City, WI and Columbus, OH provides you with all the advantages of being a full-time salaried employee in the Operational Control Center (OCC) while receiving support your flight training and enable you to advance to a First Officer position. Our structured Flight Crew Trainee Program offers mentorship and comprehensive training with hands-on learning opportunities that will set you on the path to becoming a successful pilot.

The purpose of the program is to create a clear pathway for Operational Control Center (OCC) employees which creates the career opportunity for an employee to advance to become a pilot with Red Wing Aviation.

You will be trained onsite to support the OCC as per your job description. You will also be eligible for all the company benefits package. This includes health insurance and 401K. As part of the FCT program there is a service agreement with a minimum commitment of 24 months (about 2 years) of work in the OCC.
Financial Support
Red Wing Aviation offers financial support for pilot training up to and include Commercial Multi-engine rating. RWA will reimburse employees after the successful completion of each certificate obtained. This is approved by the Director of Operations and covered in the 24-month service agreement.

Type Rating
On completion of 24 months in the OCC you are eligible for a role change to First Officer. The Fleet will be designated as per the company’s needs. The training provided will include a PIC type rating, ATP/CTP course and company specific training. The cost is established in a training contract and pro rata over 12 months.
