Job Profile

Aviation Maintenance Controller Trainee position is available in Bay City, WIYou are trusted to complete tasks and work independently while learning from your mentors and trainers. Through this module-based, structured maintenance control training program, you will learn different facets of the private jet industry and work closely with your trainers and mentors. 

 

Our structured training program will set you on the path to becoming a successful aviation maintenance controller. We are excited to offer this comprehensive trainee program. As a Maintenance Controller Trainee at Red Wing Aviation, you will be immersed in our aviation maintenance control program and processes. You will work alongside industry veterans and leaders in the maintenance control field who will provide you with focused and accelerated hands-on training. 

 

Our program is designed to educate you about our maintenance control processes and the cutting-edge technology we use. This program is open to all those who have a valid A&P License. If you are in the early stages of your career and recently earned your A&P License, this program will provide you with the training you need to succeed and grow your career, learning from leaders in the private jet industry.

Responsibilities: 

  • Coordinate with other departments to minimize downtown & maximize aircraft availability 
  • Track and report all airframe, engine, and APU hours and cycles 
  • Audit and maintain Flight, Aircraft, and Engine Maintenance logbooks  
  • Review and process invoices  
  • Proficient at Part 135 Regulations relating to aircraft maintenance  
  • Proficient at Aircraft Manual utilization  
  • Operating System and application training  
  • Coordinate maintenance with approved vendors 
  • Generate Parts and Service Purchase Orders  
  • Perform audits of aircraft records  
  • Action & track order shipping and receiving  
  • Obtain & submit downloads for engine warranty programs 

 

Program Qualifications: 

  • A & P Certificate  
  • Domicile in Red Wing  
  • A valid Driver’s License 
  • Completion of DOT/FAA pre-employment drug screen and background check. 
  • Passport eligibility  
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Windows Suite – specifically MS Excel & Word  
  • Previous MOC experience considered 

 

Trainee Program  

Once you have successfully completed all elements in the module and passed all related tests, you will be able to advance to the next module.  

 

Module 1: Gen Admin & Systems  

  • Track and report all airframe, engine, and APU Hours and Cycles. 
  • Audit and maintain Flight, Aircraft, and Engine Maintenance logbooks.  
  • Review and process invoices.  
  • Proficient at Part 135 Regulations relating to aircraft maintenance  
  • Proficient at Aircraft Manual utilization  
  • Operating System and application training  

 

Module 2: Maintenance Coordination & Auditing 

  • Coordinate maintenance with approved vendors. 
  • Coordinate with other departments to minimize downtown & maximize aircraft availability.  
  • Generate Parts or Service Purchase Orders  
  • Perform audit of aircraft records  
  • Action & track order shipping and receiving  
  • Submitting downloads for engine warranty programs  

 

Module 3: Aircraft Specific Training  

  • Complete the Gen Fam course for the XL  
  • Complete the Gen Fam course for the Ultra  
  • Transition to aircraft management – be able to manage 10 aircraft  

 

Module 4: Supervised Maintenance Control  

  • Demonstrate Maintenance control function with minimal input from supervisor & begin taking after hour phones 

 

Module 5: Unsupervised Maintenance Control  

  • Perform Maintenance Control function as an accountable and responsible person while proving the ability to handle the fleet on your own  

Note: Each Module is completed with an evaluation.
